Pokémon GO: “Bug Crawling” starts tomorrow – all information about the event

Pokémon GO Mabula Akkup Donarion

Tomorrow the “Bug Crawling” event starts in Pokémon GO. We’ll show you here what kind of monsters you can expect, what bonuses there are and what Shinys can appear.

What is this event? The “Bug Crawling” is an event that has also taken place in the past of Pokémon GO. Unsurprisingly, Bug-type monsters take center stage here.

When does the event take place? The bug crawl starts on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 10:00 local time and ends on August 16, 2022 at 20:00. So you have almost a week to take advantage of the event.

What are the highlights of the event? The bug event brings new monsters and various bonuses, among other things, and it has also been improved again with the activated hyper bonus.

Highlights include:

  • The debut of Mabula and its developments
  • Unown T in the Raids – also as Shiny
  • The regional monster Vegimak is in raids and the wild
  • Mega Scizor and Genesect are in the raids
  • Lots of research

We show you a closer look at the content here.

All spawns and shinys for the bug crawling event

During the bug crawling, you can expect changed spawns in the wilderness, and the raid pool will also be rotated a bit. Likewise, a lot of bugs also appear in the field research.

New Monster: The Pokémon “Mabula”, which appears for the first time in Pokémon GO, is particularly exciting. You can develop this further into Akkup and Donarion.

New Shiny: While crawling, the monster “Toxiped” is also unlocked in its shiny form. So here you can expand your Shiny collection if you are lucky.

Regional Monster: The regional monkey Vegimak is now appearing worldwide. If you don’t already have it, you should grab it – the dazzling version can also be found here.

New Unown: The Unown “T” appears in the Raid Battles and can also appear as a shiny specimen.

New Mega Monster: Mega Scizor appears in the raids. This is particularly vulnerable to fire, but otherwise has hardly any weaknesses. A shiny version is also available here.

All powerful counters against Mega Scizor can be found here.

Where which monsters can appear, we summarize here again. We have marked all possible shinys with an asterisk*.

Quests and research during the event bring rewards

What role does research play? There are several points during the event where you should solve research tasks.

The first comes about through the hyperbonus. It brings a “limited research” into play during the event.

Here you will have to catch many bugs. As a reward, there should be items, Pokémon encounters and mega energy for Scizor.

In addition, there will be a collector’s challenge. Completing these will award you with 15,000 XP and the Bug Collector pose.

Last but not least, the event will bring numerous field researches offering different monsters as rewards. These Pokémon will be hiding there:

Bonuses during bug crawling

What bonuses does the event bring? Here we show you a list of all bonuses that apply during the event.

  • Double Catch EXP for catches with a good, great, or fabulous throw
  • Extra candies for catches with a good, great, or fabulous roll
  • Increased chance of XL Candy for level 31+ Trainers with a Good, Great, or Fabulous roll
  • Snapshot surprises with Bug Pokémon

So it pays to throw properly to bag as many bonuses as possible. This is especially important on Community Day with Zigzachs, because the event brings even more bonuses that help you collect dust and XP.
