Twitch star MontanaBlack slams comments: '16 year olds want to tell me about life'

Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris (34) is one of the largest German Twitch streamers. Viewers accuse him of his friends distancing themselves from him. Now he comments on true friendships.

Who is MontanaBlack?

True friendships don’t happen online

Why is? In his Aug. 5 livestream, MontanaBlack addressed allegations from some viewers that his friends were running away and that he was all alone. The streamer didn’t want to leave it that way.

What was the trigger? After 8 years of working together, MontanaBlack had parted ways with its moderator BigMac. BigMac had commented positively on intoxicants in the streamer’s chat.

This is what true friendship looks like to him: Davide, one of his best friends, would have known MontanaBlack since he was 6 years old. And even if the two don’t have contact for a few days, it’s always as if they haven’t seen each other for just a few hours.

However, the viewers “feel only 3%” of this friendship, because Davide has no presence on social media. But even with friends who are themselves active in social networks, it’s not always just about showing yourself together.

We all are getting older. In a certain way, everyone becomes a little more independent, more grown-up. More responsibility, less time. […] Just because you’re not aware of a lot of what’s happening doesn’t mean these people are no longer in my circle of friends.

You don’t have to appear together in every Instagram story. Especially if you haven’t seen each other for a long time, you would put the cell phone away when you met to have a proper conversation.

Here’s what MontanaBlack thinks of various friendships: The streamer thinks you have to differentiate very clearly. On the one hand there are friends that you have known for 2 years, others you have known for 20 years.

He was sad that some friendships had broken up, because we had a good time. But if he were to lose a friend like Davide, he would be “deeply heartbroken” and would think of him every day.

Then he gives his viewers a piece of wisdom: “Friends come and friends go, that’s just the way it is.”

That’s what MontanaBlack is really about in friendships

This is important for MontanaBlack: For him, a friendship is about the interpersonal. Honesty and respect come first for him. If that is not the case, the friendship cannot last.

Why do friendships fail? MontanaBlack follows the example of a friend he has known for 28 years. He doesn’t want to name any names, but he wants to explain why some friendships really fall apart.

He loaned the friend a larger sum – probably in the €3,000 range. He did not receive the money back and then wanted to waive his friend’s debts. However, he insisted on trying to raise the money somehow and even selling some things for it.

After the sale, however, the friend no longer reported and instead spent the money on “nonsense”. Here he was expressly not concerned with the sum, but with the disrespect he felt.

How did he even come up with the topic? According to MontanaBlack, there have been frequent comments that all his friends are running away from him and that he is all alone. He was particularly bothered by being told something by people half his age.

It upsets me in a certain way that 16-year-olds want to tell me something about life or about friendships.

MontanaBlack saw very clear differences between the level of comments on different platforms. YouTube comments are smarter than TikTok comments. But that is also ok, because there must be people like that.

However, these statements hurt him a little because he simply found them disrespectful. After all, he has friendships that are older than some of these users.

But for a while it was really difficult for him to reply to people and he’s sorry for that. The streamer wants to work on that and not be the type who never reacts or never comes to events.

While MontanaBlack was about friendships, others live out their love lives on Twitch. A 17-year-old wanted to get relationship tips there, but it went terribly wrong.
