iPhone 14 Pro (Max): Price increase expected for the top models

from Norman Wittkopf
Apple’s new smartphone generation, the iPhone 14, will appear in September and according to a well-known analyst, at least the top models will become more expensive.

While the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max were launched last year from 1,149 euros and 1,249 euros respectively, this year the new top models could see an average increase in sales prices of 15 percent, due to their accuracy and good connectivity Supply chain well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo writes on Twitter. Although Ming-Chi Kuo hasn’t revealed the exact prices of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, it would mean that the devices will be around $170 to $190 more expensive.

Apple, meanwhile, recently reportedly informed its suppliers that it would increase shipments of the new models by 5 percent, bringing the total for this year to 95 million units. Since Apple will almost reach the 100 million deliveries mark with the iPhone 14 family in 2022 alone, according to one Analysts on Twitter the cost of sourcing the enormous batch justifies a price increase since the supply chain company would also have to pay more to produce the higher number of units.

Meanwhile, the entry-level models of the iPhone 14, apart from the Pro and Pro Max, could possibly be spared the price increase. These started last year at 799 euros and 899 euros. According to the report, this could be due to the fact that they will probably ship with last year’s A15 Bionic chip instead of Apple’s new A16 Bionic. In addition to the generally increased component prices in the new top models, the use of faster and more energy-efficient LPDDR5 RAM is also said to be responsible, as is a new 48 MP main sensor in the camera. However, concrete information can only be expected at the presentation in September.
