Metal Slug Tactics: Release of the new tactical game postponed
Publisher DotEmu and the developers of Leikir Studio actually wanted to come along this year Metal Slug Tactics launch a new installment in the Classics series for Nintendo Switch and PC. But now there is bad news for all fans. The title has been moved. Via Twitter the makers announced that Metal Slug Tactics needs more time and the publication is therefore only in the year 2023 it’s planned.
What is Metal Slug Tactics?
In the past, Metal Slug was best known for its Run’n’Gun games. With the new game you now switch genres and try your hand at one tactical game. Nevertheless, fans can look forward to the comeback of Marco, Eri, Flo and Tarma. Metal Slug Tactics is played in the isometric perspective – comparable to templates such as Final Fantasy Tactics or Advance Wars. Your task is to eliminate enemies and known bosses of the series.
The maps on which Metal Slug Tactics battles are fought are procedurally generated. Combined with several missions and challenges, the title should also offer a high replay value. In our Metal Slug Tactics preview we have already taken a detailed look at the project and reveal more details about the tactical game. The tweet about the postponement can be found below.
These games have also been postponed
In the last few weeks, the release of several titles had to be pushed back. Just a few days ago, for example, Marvel’s Midnight Suns postponed. The game will now only go on sale in early 2023. Almost a month ago it did Forspoken and The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Caught. While Square Enix’s role-playing game will now be released in January 2023, there is still no new date for Gollum.
