Jurassic World 3 gets a 14-minute longer home theater version – we reveal what you’ll see!

With Jurassic World 3: A New Age the dinosaur screen epic came to an end this year. The film was undoubtedly a huge hit at the box office: with a worldwide Grossing up from $950 million the end of the sequel trilogy is the second highest-grossing film of the year.

Only “Top Gun: Maverick” steals the prehistoric giant lizards first place on the podium. Now the release of “Jurassic World 3” for our home theaters is coming up as Extended Cut with many additional minutes of unseen footage.

Jurassic World 3 is getting an Extended Cut release

The release of an Extended Cut probably won’t come as a surprise to some fans. Moviegoers complained that in the finished film an extraordinary number of scenes were missingpreviously im trailers were to be seen. It was speculated that director Colin Trevorrow had to cut the Dino film heavily for the cinema and would later submit an extended version.

These speculations have now proven to be correct, because on August 25, 2022 the extended cut of the film comes to our house.

This will be as VOD be available as well as on the Blu-ray and the 4K Blu-ray be included. Only the abridged theatrical version appears on the DVD edition.

What’s in the Extended Version of Jurassic World 3?

You get in the Extended Cut 14 minutes more feature film time. That means the blockbuster will be extended from 146 minutes to 160 minutes. You can find the extended version on the Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray in the bonus material – so both media also contain the shorter theatrical version.

The Extended Cut starts with a alternate beginning and are in the course of the film several new sequences to see, according to Universal Pictures “more dinosaurs, action and iconic moments” bring along. In addition, there is the one released a few years ago short film “Battle at Big Rock” on the Blu-ray versions.
