Lord of the Rings Series: Director Reveals Tolkin’s Most Important Rule About LotR Template
In less than a month celebrates the new Lord of the Rings Series “The Rings of Power” September 2, 2022 premiered on Amazon. Following Peter Jackson’s Oscar-winning film trilogies, the new fantasy series based on JRR Tolkien’s iconic Middle-earth novels breaks new ground.
Because while there is a book template for the LotR films, the series takes the Tales from the Silmarillion that were less elaborately fleshed out by Tolkien – which means fans are definitely curious as to which one Tone take over the series becomes.
producer and Director of the series JA Bayonawho directs the important first two episodes, revealed in a recent interview that the embodiment of Tolkien’s “Optimism and Love” are the top priorities when it comes to bringing the narrative to life.
“If you read Tolkien’s books, you can see how much he values beauty, so the series is full of beauty. Tolkien is naturally optimistic, warm-hearted and emotional. This is a man who [im Ersten Weltkrieg] went through some of the darkest things in human history. And maybe that’s why he didn’t write a desperate and terrible story.
[Tolkien] wrote one story about hope and a little guy who succeeds. We’ve always felt it Rule number one is that there has to be genuine optimism and love – even in the darkest and scariest moments of the show.”
This is no doubt true of the LotR books (and movies) as well, where a little hobbit carries the hope and burden for all of Middle-earth by slaying the A ring to Mount Doom carries to destroy it and with it its terrible owner: Sauron.
The story of the author JRR Tolkien himself and the making of his Middle-earth saga was published in 2019 under the title tolkien filmed with Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins.
What is the Rings of Power LOTR series about?
The Amazon series goes back in time thousands of years and tells of Middle-earth during the Second Agethe rise of the dark ruler Sauronthe rings of power and the last Alliance between Elves and Men as well as the history of Numeno Islandright.
In the middle stands a love story between an elf and a human who defy all odds while the young Elf Galadriel already recognizes the signs of the times and together with Elrond and Isildur goes to war against evil.
