Obi-Wan Kenobi: Ewan McGregor remains open to a second season

The design of the Grand Inquisitor in Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi was a thorn in the side of many fans.

For months, a possible second season of the hit series Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi reported. Numerous people involved have already commented on this, but an official confirmation from the side Disney hasn’t existed yet. Ewan McGregor is also in favor of a second season of the Disney Plus series. The actor not only returned to the series as Obi-Wan, but also took on behind-the-camera executive producer responsibilities on the project. And recently McGregor again emphasized that he would be part of a second season.

No plans for season 2 yet

During the Superhero Comic Con in Texas, the 51-year-old spoke about a second season and told the fans that he wanted to do it. But when asked if there were any official plans so far, McGregor replied: “I’ll be absolutely honest, there is no plan yet. But I’m pretty sure they’re just waiting. I think so, but no one has contacted me yet.

Kathleen Kennedy, President of Disney, spoke about the original plans for the Disney Plus series Lucasfilm, along with producer Deborah Chow a few months ago in an interview we reported on at the time. According to Kennedy, you had Obi-Wan Kenobi as a Limited Series planned, but the option of a sequel remains open. The requirement for this was simply an “actual reason”. But fans will have to wait for an official confirmation.
