In Squirrel with a Gun we play a cute terror squirrel
The animal world is currently conquering many video games. Most recently, a virtual cat in Stray showed how much fun it actually is to scratch carpets and take a nap. Other titles such as Goat Simulator and Untitled Goose Game are also very popular among players.
The developer presents on Twitter DeEntremont now the next video game in which we slip into the skin of an animal. Behind the furry creature in Squirrel with a Gun But there is more to it than we would initially suspect.
Squirrel is armed with pistol
The developer shows some video clips of his latest project on his Twitter account. And the game delivers what it promises: We play a squirrel with a gun.
In a video you can see how a character is very taken with the cute squirrel and shoots some photos with the smartphone. But the animal suddenly pulls a pistol out of a chair, only to flee a short time later with its prey:

Another video shows how detailed the squirrel looks in Unreal Engine 5. The fur looks fluffy and shiny, the whiskers are easy to see and the cute little teeth don’t give you a clue as to what kind of malicious creature we are dealing with here:

When is Squirrel with a Gun coming out? On the Steam product page says that’s a really, really good question. Developer DeEntremont is not yet sure when he will release the game. So it may be a few more months before we can test the game ourselves.
What platform is the Squirrel with a Gun released for?? So far only the PC is known as a confirmed platform. The developer has not yet revealed whether console versions will be submitted later.

The squirrel as a friendly helper
What is the game about? Squirrel with a Gun will be an action-packed sandbox game with a focus on exploration and gun battles. We have to defend ourselves against randomly appearing agents using our rich arsenal of weapons. It is also possible to disarm opponents with well-placed melee attacks.
The environment can be explored from the point of view of the little tree dweller. So we can climb and jump to move around in the squirrel’s body. Weapon recoil can also be used to cross larger chasms.
In order to get useful rewards, we can complete missions for residents of the neighborhood district. But as a gun-loving squirrel, there is of course the alternative of raiding the residents to get the much-coveted rewards.
