Division 2: Cliffhanger from Season 9 brings players back to Washington - Hope for more

For a long time, hardly anything happened in the Game Division 2 live service. But for a few weeks now, the shooter has been on the rise again and is attracting players back to Washington. MeinMMO has therefore taken cover for you to test the new content of the well-known shooter and tells you what to expect there now and in the future.

What’s currently happening in Division 2? For a long time, the cover shooter Division 2 didn’t have much to offer and ran on the back burner. Ubisoft only repeated old manhunts, for which you had to play the same missions over and over again. In the long run, that was too boring for many Agents, as the players in Division 2 are called.

But then came Season 9: In May came the announced Season 9, which should end the boredom of Division 2. Ubisoft reignited the small flame and brought not only the new co-op mode “Countdown” but also new equipment into the game.

  • These include the new “Heartbreaker” meta armor set, which is reminiscent of the Division 1 forward set and plays just as well.
  • Named weapons, such as the “Kingmakers” with the Perfect Slayer Talent, which increases weapon damage by 20% on marked enemies.
  • Or a fun LED outfit via the Golden Orb event that earns you flashing shoes.

Even players who had already leveled everything to max in Division 2 got something to do again. The newly introduced “Know-How” system is a grindy expertise system that forces you to not only re-farm every gear, but play them as well. Because that’s how she gets stronger and stronger bit by bit. Even uninteresting loot makes sense again, because by donating materials to the workbench you can also increase your expertise level.

  • If you have upgraded a weapon or piece of armor to expert (level 10), which is relatively quick, you can then improve it by one percentage point in terms of damage or armor.
  • From then on, you can only get even more upgrades for playable materials. So you’re trading a lot of grind for a little more gameplay advantage.
Here you have something to do again in 2022 to make your agent even stronger.

Season 9 Man-Hunt ends with cliffhanger: With the new expertise system, Ubisoft is making its agents stronger. But why? The cliffhanger at the end of Season 9’s story could already provide the answer.

Surely this is still the well-known Season Manhunt system from Divison 2, in which you have to hunt and defeat different targets one after the other in order to kill the primary target at the end.

But Season 9 also announced the resolution of one of Division’s biggest mysteries with its primary goal, Captain Lewis. Namely where the overpowering and renegade agents called “Hunter” actually come from. For this you work together for the first time in Division with the True Sons, one of the opposing factions in Division 2.

The hunt for the primary target in Season 9 ends surprisingly cooperatively.

Ubisoft had announced this in advance. Above all, they want to give the narrative more meaning again, so that the story of Division 2 becomes more compelling again. Season 9 was definitely an interesting preview of that. Especially since that’s a question players have been asking since Division 1. And it currently looks like that won’t be a secret for much longer.

However, there is already a first setback. Just last week, Ubisoft announced that Season 10 would be postponed from August to September 2022. So, as so often, you have to wait a few weeks longer for the story to continue.

And what about the “Quality of Life” in Division 2? For future updates, not only a new story, but also some “Quality of Life” changes will come into play. However, the old teething troubles of Division 2 are still quite present.

This starts with the infamous delta bugs and ends with enemies that can sometimes shoot through cover. Not much has changed here at the moment, even if Ubisoft keeps making small game adjustments, such as changing the color of dropped items and the like.

But somehow Division 2 is fun again. More importantly, Ubisoft appears to have bigger plans for the once-successful cover shooter after all. Especially if more Legendary difficulties come into play in the future. Starting with the Tidal Basin and Manning National Zoo missions.

The fact that this is the case has apparently not only gotten around among passionate Division players. New players can also find their way back into the game. And I have to say that the new expertise system, the new activities and the interest in the Heartbreaker set also spurred me on to make Division 2 unsafe and loot opponents again after a year’s break.

The upcoming Season 10 and 11 promises a lot, especially excitement, for all interested players. Since Division 1, the so-called “Hunters” have been one of the most dangerous enemies a Division agent can encounter. Should Ubisoft actually shift the story focus there, then that would be another reason for your agent to visit Washington in Division 2 to gain strength.

How about you? Has Division 2 also cast its spell on you again and are you hoping for more information about the renegade hunters? Or do you say the end of Division 2 has long been sealed? Write it to us in the comments.
