DJI Mavic 3 SE: “The best drone of 2022” [Gerücht]

The DJI Mavic 3 drone is considered the top model among drone pilots, but it apparently still has room for improvement. According to a current rumor, the manufacturer DJI wants to launch a new version of this drone, the DJI Mavic 3 SE, which could function as a better Mavic 3. At least that’s what the well-known Chinese leaker claims @DealsDrone on Twitter.

Mavic 3 SE with 5.1K recording for under $2,000?

The leaker writes that a drone “like a Mavic 3 SE” will be launched in 2022 and become the best drone of the year:

He confirms a rumor that a few months ago already posted by Twitter user @DigiTechReviews. The latter wrote in May 2022 that DJI would launch a new Mavic 3 within the next 12 months, which would feature Sony’s new 4/3 IMX471-AAJK sensor for 5.1K recording at 120 fps. The drone is said to cost under $2,000.

DJI itself has not yet commented on the rumors and has not yet announced a corresponding drone. In the meantime, however, there is new footage of the upcoming Avata VR drone: Leaker Jasper Ellens posted a video on Twitter showing the drone in action in a living room:

The video shows the drone hovering and flying around the interior. The user controls it with the DJI FPV Remote, which apparently can be used in addition to the motion controller that was already seen in a previous video. There are still no exact specifications for the Avata, but it can be assumed that users in this country will need at least a small drone driver’s license to be able to fly them.
