Xiaomi 12T Pro: leaked photo shows 200 megapixel camera

Rumors of a Xiaomi smartphone with a 200-megapixel camera have been around for quite a while. Now a photo has surfaced that shows the camera of said device in detail. The smartphone is said to be called Xiaomi 12T Pro.

For a long time it looked as if Xiaomi could win the race for the first smartphone with a 200-megapixel camera. According to rumors, the Redmi K50 Ultra should have appeared with the high-resolution camera. However, the device was launched in China with a 108-megapixel camera. The recently released Motorola X30 Pro is the world’s first smartphone with a 200-megapixel camera. But the 200 MP Xiaomi smartphone is also said to be coming Gizchina. A leaked photo now allegedly shows the cell phone’s camera.

Is the Xiaomi 12T Pro the international version of the Redmi K50 Ultra?

The photo shows a camera module consisting of three cameras. Above two smaller lenses is another significantly larger lens. The lettering “200MP”, which can be seen below the flash, proves that it must be a 200-megapixel camera. Visually, the camera module is reminiscent of that of the Redmi K50 Ultra and that could not be a coincidence. As Gizchina suspects, the Xiaomi 12T Pro could be based on this model.

This is also supported by the similar model numbers. The Redmi K50 Ultra has the model number 22081212C, the Xiaomi 12T Pro has the model number 22081212UG. The “C” and the “G” probably stand for the respective markets – China and Global. So the Xiaomi 12T Pro might be the international version of the Redmi K50 Ultra, just with a better camera.

This is what the specs of the Xiaomi 12T Pro could look like

Assuming that the Xiaomi 12T Pro and Redmi K50 Ultra only differ in the camera, the specs of the 200-megapixel smartphone could look like this: We would like a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,712 x 1,220 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hertz. A Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 would be used as the processor. The K50 Ultra offers RAM up to 12 GB and internal storage up to 512 GB, similar configurations would also be expected for the 12T Pro.

The 108-megapixel camera would be swapped out for the 200-megapixel camera, with the rest of the cameras likely remaining the same. This is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. It is not known when the Xiaomi 12T Pro will appear.
