Overwatch 2: Merging accounts is now possible - you have to consider that

Ahead of the launch of Overwatch 2, merging console accounts and Battle.net accounts is now possible.

This is a mandatory step and you will now be prompted to select and merge the accounts you want when you log in. Blizzard then prepares the merge ahead of Overwatch 2’s launch.

To make the right decision

Blizzard points out that there is only one opportunity to merge accounts, so you should check carefully beforehand whether you have selected the right one.

Why is this step necessary? In the future, you will need a Battle.net account for Overwatch 2. Merging is also required to transfer your progress from part one to Overwatch 2.

On the PC, your progress is automatically carried over to Overwatch 2, and you can also merge any console accounts with your Battle.net account.

“All items in the Hero Gallery across all platforms can be found in the merged Battle.net account, it says. “This includes sprays, emotes, skins, and anything else that can be found in the current Hero Gallery tab in-game. Duplicate cosmetic items from all platforms will be merged into a single Battle.net account.”
