Together is always better, maybe Sony thinks so too. A find in the code of a game from the PS5 manufacturer suggests connecting the console to the PC.

Hamburg – If you play, you have to make a decision. For example, the Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch ecosystems are not connected. For the PS5 and the PC, however, this could possibly change soon. In the depths of the Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered code, resourceful users have now discovered evidence of a PSN connection to the PC.

Connect PSN to Steam: Dream of PS5 and PC connection could soon come true

What indicates a pairing of PSN and Steam? Like colleagues from VGC report is said to have hidden amazing things in the code of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, which recently celebrated its release on the PC. If you believe the find, then players will be able to fuel their PSN accounts when playing certain games with games that they actually only played on the PC and not the Sony PS5.

For example, you could play the Spider-Man game on Steam and collect trophies for your own PSN account. The transfer of other in-game bonuses or rewards could also be possible with the system.

There are many indications of a connection between Sony’s PSN and the PC

How likely is the connection between PS5 and PC? In any case, the unexpected marriage of the two gaming platforms does not seem far-fetched at first glance. In the past there have always been indications that Sony wants to bring the full PSN, including PS Plus, to the PC. Likewise, the PC games market is becoming more and more attractive for Sony.

Even if in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered Keywords like PSNAccountLinked and PSNLinkingEntitlements can be found, the potentially new system is not yet actively used by the game. This may lay the groundwork for a quick adjustment should Sony decide to flip the switch, but it’s already done.

There is also a trail on Sony’s website that points to PSN integration for PC. In a new FAQ is there to read that one currently does not need a PSN account to enjoy PlayStation Studios games on PC. The focus here is clearly on the word “up-to-date”. So PSN integration could possibly be coming soon for PC gamers. However, there is currently no official statement on the PSN rumors from Sony.
