WotLK Classic: You shouldn’t miss the legendary zombie event in WoW

The WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Classic pre-patch has an appointment. Blizzard has published the schedule for the different phases.

The WoW Classic community is eagerly awaiting the release of the most popular expansion of all time. Wrath of the Lich King Classic is in the starting blocks and Blizzard has finally announced concrete dates when the pre-patch and with it the legendary zombie event will go live.

What is this event? During the Wrath of the Lich King Classic Pre-Event, players can be corrupted by the Scourge using contaminated grain stores. After a short incubation period, they become zombies – and thus hostile to all other players! It is now possible to infect other players in turn, throwing all of Azeroth into chaos.

WotLK’s pre-event is considered one of the most impressive of all time, rendering a large part of the game world nearly unplayable for the duration of the event. This also bothers some players who find the event too intrusive, but at least it is limited in time.

• August 31: The pre-patch is released, bringing with it the major system changes of Wrath of the Lich King.
• September 6th – 13th: The “Zombie Plague” event begins, allowing you to spread chaos across the game world.
• September 13 – September 26: The Scourge invasions begin all over the world. In the fight against the necropolis you can get particularly powerful rewards.
• September 27: Wrath of the Lich King Classc releases at midnight (00:01).
• 5th October: Arena Season 5 begins.
• 7 October: Open the first 3 raids – Naxxramas, the Eye of Eternity and the Obsidian Sanctum.

The other release plans for the upcoming content, such as the Argent Tournament, Ulduar and Icecrown Citadel are not yet known.

Event has been remastered in Shadowlands: Even 14 years after the original release of Wrath of the Lich King, the “zombie event” was still considered legendary and unforgettable – that’s why Blizzard even brought it back in a way at the start of the current Shadowlands expansion. For several days there was a similar mess. But if you want to experience the “original event” again, you should check out the classic realms from September 6th. Because probably this event will not happen again so soon after that.
