Hogwarts Legacy after release postponement: 20-minute ASMR video - again

from Thilo Bayer
As early as May there was a 20-minute in-engine video from Hogwarts Legacy to bridge the waiting time. Matching the summer heat, there is now a similar video.

The next release postponement has hardly been announced, after all, in contrast to previous announcements, there is a specific date when the PR team for Hogwarts Legacy switches back to the previously known mode. Consequently, there is again a very long and very special video to see.

Hogwarts meets ASMR

And here – as in May – the following question is answered: What does the game environment of Hogwarts Legacy actually look like if distracting game sounds are largely minimized and only quiet natural sounds are allowed? The latest video for the upcoming adventure game in the Harry Potter universe answers exactly this question. Instead of distracting viewers with sound effects, it’s basically nature sounds, waterfalls and river sounds – all for 20 minutes.

Here is the official description of the video on the game’s official YouTube channel: Enjoy the sounds of summer at Hogwarts Legacy as you venture beyond the castle grounds into the neighboring villages.

The whole thing is titled ASMR in 4K. If you don’t know the term: According to Wikipedia ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and describes the perception of a tingling, pleasant feeling on the skin (so-called tingles); often experienced in a similar way to gentle electrostatic discharges. After all, ASMR made it to the third most used search term on YouTube in 2021 by triggering acoustic and visual stimuli.

PCGH readers were looking forward to these PC games at the beginning of the year

The creators behind Hogwarts Legacy probably noticed that too and are demonstrating environments in the game with this unusual gameplay video form. A “real trailer” can then be expected at Gamescom. After all, the open-world action game was ranked 6th in the Most Wanted 2022 poll of PCGH readers. Now the game will compete again in the Most Wanted 2023 poll.
