Hardly any other game is so eagerly awaited as GTA 6. Now a Twitter post from the developer caused a lot of uproar among the fans.

New York – The fact that the publisher Rockstar Games is working on GTA 6 behind closed doors is no longer a secret. The fans are currently absorbing every bit of information about the new GTA. Many players are eagerly awaiting official announcements, trailers, screenshots or at least a leak showing real images from the game. Due to the high expectations, hardly any other game has as many rumors and assumptions as GTA 6. However, developer Rockstar Games also knows this, who supposedly trolled his fans on Twitter with a little wink.

GTA 6 – Rockstar posts logo on Twitter and the fans go crazy

Why is? Since the development of GTA 6 was officially announced at the beginning of the year, the rumor mill about the next big title from Rockstar Games hasn’t stopped. Even a GTA 6 leak from 2018 turned out to be true after investigative journalist Jason Schreier reported exclusive behind-the-scenes info at the studio. After these revelations, fans were particularly eager for Rockstar to make a public statement. When the studio released an official Twitter post, fans felt misled.

What did Rockstar Games post? When the developer made a video post on August 18th, some fans got quite nervous. A pink logo appears for the first few seconds of the video, apparently reminding fans of the Roman 6. Only recently it was announced that GTA 6 will apparently play in an environment that is modeled after Miami. “GTA Vice City” was also strongly based on the neon-colored aesthetics of the 80s. Thus, the first impression was given to many fans that it would be an announcement for GTA 6 and that the logo would belong to the game.

The euphoria didn’t last long, however, as the video makes it clear that it’s just an advertisement for a vehicle in GTA: Online, which uses a logo that’s been seen a lot in GTA V. However, some fans are pretty sure that the post, with the Rockstar logo prominently placed, was intended to cause a stir and is a small nod to the fans.

GTA 6 – The fans feel trolled by the developer

How are the fans reacting? The fans feel deliberately deceived by the developer. There is a lot of discussion about the tweet in the GTA 6 fan forum. Some fans are even angry because they feel duped by the developer. However, there are also fans who do not believe in an announcement via Twitter from the outset.

  • pablodc writes: “Come on Rockstar, stop trolling us.”
  • drummer98 commented: “Okay, they’re kidding us on purpose. That was literally done on purpose.”
  • Len Lfc adds: “Rockstar will announce it through their own channels when it’s best for them. Check out GTA V & RDR2.”

When is GTA 6 coming? So far, Rockstar Games has held back with an official announcement. However, it is known that the studio is working flat out on the development of the new open-world title. Among other things, it was announced that the publisher would fill over 200 new positions to promote the development of GTA 6. In addition, according to a report by Bloomberg, the release of GTA 6 is still a long way off. So it looks like the fanbase will have to be patient for a while.
