WoW: Dragonflight: The racial abilities of the Dracthyr

Face Power!

What are the folk abilities of the Dracthyr in WoW: Dragonflight? While the caller always gets a lot of screen time in the reporting, details about the Dracthyr are overlooked from flying. This, however, is born out of the fact that Dracthyr and Caller are irrevocably linked – and that the Dracthyr people can align themselves with either faction. So there is no question at all whether you want to switch to the new people with your long-established main, because this or that racial could bring you a super great bonus.

Nevertheless, we want to show you below what the current status of the Dracthyr racials is. Who knows, maybe in a far distant WoW future they’ll be able to play another class besides the Caller! WoW: Dragonflight is scheduled for release in 2022.

face

If you use face, then you switch between your dragon form and the face, i.e. your humanoid shape. The visage causes your group members to relax a bit outside of combat, which in turn results in the group’s health regeneration being significantly increased.

wing shock

Knocks enemies in front of you with a wing flap with this ability, which has a minute and a half cooldown. This matches similar CC abilities such as Tauren War Thunder.

tail sweep

You whip your tail, knocking up enemies within 20 feet. This ability has a 45 second cooldown. So while you use the Wing Burst to get rid of enemies standing in front of you for a short time, you can use the Tail Sweep to knock all the enemies around you into the air.

Discerning Eye (not yet translated)

This passive ability increases your Perception by 50, increasing the radius in which you track veins and herb nodes. You also have a chance to obtain additional rare materials from gathering professions.

awakened

Your mastery is passively increased by 2.5 percent.

armor skills

Callers (and by extension Dracthyr in a way) get a 5% bonus to Intelligence when wearing chain armor. Of course, they can also put on cloth and leather armor, but then they have to forego this bonus.

weapon skills

Callers can equip axes, daggers, fist weapons, maces, staves, and swords.

Slide

Gliding reduces your fall speed, and you use this ability by jumping as you fall. It works a bit like the demon hunter. So if you’ve already mastered gliding in the demo, you probably won’t have any problems with the dracthyr.

Familiar Skies (not yet translated)

This passive skill reduces the cooldown of Sailing by one minute when navigating a continent that you have fully explored.

Sail

You cast this skill every four minutes for 1.5 seconds and are catapulted into the air. The cooldown begins when you’re back on the ground. Combined with gliding and the two active abilities associated with sailing, this is how you move through the air.

Basics of Sailing

Once you are in the air and sailing through it, you turn in a certain direction in order to move in it. Means: If you lean down, you get more shrinkage. You can then fly forward again to take that momentum with you. If you lean up, you’ll slow down. When you reach the slowest speed, you slowly fall forward and down. Forward Thrust allows you to flap your wings a short distance, gaining speed. Ascend to the sky, on the other hand, ensures that you gain altitude at the expense of speed.
