Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege reveals the third season of Year 7.

Ubisoft today unveiled Season 3 of Year 7 of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege with Operation Brutal Swarm. The new content will be released on September 6th and will bring Grim, a new attacker from Singapore, as well as a new map, Phase 2 of the Player Reputation System with chat sanctions, match replay reports and many gameplay improvements.

Operation Brutal Swarm introduces Grim, a new attacker from Singapore with military experience in stealth, security and intelligence. Its Kawan Hive Launcher System fires a projectile that deploys a canister on the ground, releasing a swarm of tiny bee-bots.

This swarm will mark the defenders that are inside or walking through it until the Bee-Bot’s batteries run out. Grim is a high speed, low health operator. He is also equipped with either a 552 Commando or the SG-CQB, and carries the P229 as a secondary weapon.

Alongside Grim, a fan-favorite map from the Road to SI event will also be permanently added to the map pool under the new name Stadium Bravo. Using parts from other maps and the indestructible bulletproof glass, this map challenges players to develop new strategies to succeed.

The recently announced major balancing changes, including changes to Finka and LMGs, will also be implemented in Year 7 Season 3. Players can also look forward to new additions like the Impact EMP Grenade, a new secondary gadget for select Operators.

Other changes include more weapon attachment options for players to choose from. Also, the recoil system has been overhauled, adjusting each weapon’s recoil and increasing the recoil intensity during sustained autofire. The recoil revamp is exclusive to PC, while console players will now find their own updated recoil for controllers.

More balance updates for Dokkaebi and Rook are planned for mid-season. Dokkaebi’s Logic Bomb will then also affect Operators that have already been eliminated, and Rook’s Armor Plates will now grant Operators the Stand Up ability while wearing them. This ability allows Operators to revive themselves with 20 Health if they fall into the Downed But Not Killed state.

Gameplay updates for this season include changes to the card ban phase, which now displays five cards instead of three to increase card variety. The tactical map has also been updated to provide attackers with more information during the preparation phase. Attackers can now see a list of the defenders’ available targets, showing the floors and target locations when spotted by the attacking team.

Additionally, players can now report suspected cheaters on the Match Replay screen. They can view footage of their recent games and report suspected cheaters while viewing their gameplay. With this feature, Ubisoft continues its ongoing commitment to identifying and banning cheaters in order to create a fair environment for all.

Phase 2 of the Player Reputation System will be introduced later in the season to further improve the player experience. This update introduces a new penalty for text chat abuse. While this penalty is active, repeat offenders will be muted by default to hide hateful and offensive content in text chat. Players who have sent too many hateful or abusive messages will have an active penalty that lasts 30 games.

Following the introduction of Wolfguard in Year 7 Season 3, Operation Brutal Swarm once again brings another faction to the fore: Nighthaven. Professional soldiers may see the Private Military Company as opportunistic and hostile, but that’s because their agents are very protective of them. Her services come at a price, so Nighthaven often works for the highest bidder.

This allows the company to afford the best military technology and weapons, which can be an attractive proposition for Rainbow Six operators. Finka, Pulse, Ela, IQ and Smoke have decided to leave Rainbow and go to Nighthaven. They join Kali, Wamai, Aruni, Ace, Osa and their security chief, Grim.

Finally, players who own a current Battle Pass will receive a 10% discount on all items in the in-game shop. This perk also applies to future Battle Passes. Additionally, with the new Buy For A Friend Battle Pass program, Premium Battle Passes can be purchased for friends who don’t already own them.
