PlayStation VR2 : Sony limits the release period

Many players are eagerly awaiting the new VR glasses for the PS5. On Twitter, the manufacturer is now providing the first information as to when the new hardware will find its way onto the shelves.

The technical details have already been communicated in great detail, and the new gamepads for controlling the various VR games for the Playstation 5 are no longer a secret. Now comes what is still missing: a release date.

Market launch is scheduled for early 2023

As is well known, Sony will not be at Gamescom this year to present new games or even the upcoming VR headset to the general public. But even before the Gamescom Opening Night, which can be seen tonight on the relevant streaming portals from 8 p.m., Sony is trying to generate a bit of attention.

On Twitter, Sony Playstation UK is now announcing when the official launch of PS VR2 will take place – and it is earlier than expected. The new VR headset for the PS5 will be available in the first quarter of 2023. However, release dates in times of the pandemic, broken supply chains and chip shortages should be treated with caution.

The Playstation 5 has been around for almost two years and the gaming console still can’t be easily bagged. The PS VR2 headset will then be available until you can simply throw it in the shopping cart in stores or online, but by 2023 the leaves should already have turned brown again.

In addition, there is currently no information on the price, but it should settle at around 500 euros.
