Wanted: Dead: Release of the Japanese action carnage is postponed

A slasher/shooter with katana beheadings, police duels and cats? All of this is promised by Wanted: Dead, the new game from the Japanese developer studio Soleil. Whether it can keep this promise remains to be seen. However, the promise that the title would be released this year has already been broken. The new release date trailer shows that Wanted: Dead will be released next year on February 14 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

The game, from developers of the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive series, is all about Lt. Hannah Stone – member of the Zombie Unit – “an elite Hong Kong police force on a mission to uncover a major corporate conspiracy.” You bash your way through “mercenaries, gang members and private military contractors” with futuristic guns and melee weapons. A Postponement Pandemic

The well-groomed cyberpunk carnage isn’t the only title to fall victim to the postponement pandemic this year. The RPG in the Harry Potter universe Hogwarts Legacy or Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and many other games cannot flicker on home monitors this year as planned, but are condemned to quarantine until 2023.

The question of whether the mixture of third-person shooter with hack-n-slash and nostalgic beat’em up mechanics can convince will probably only be clarified on February 14 next year. After all, you can present your loved one with a very special gift for Valentine’s Day.
