Atlas Fallen: It's not Soulslike, more reminiscent of Horizon Forbidden West and God of War

Deck13 Interactive’s Atlas Fallen, announced during gamescom Opening Night Live, is not Soulslike.

Instead, the developers are comparing their new project to games like God of War and Horizon Forbidden West.

Those are the inspirations

Game Design Director Jérémy Hartvick confirmed this at gamescom (via VG247). But that doesn’t mean the game won’t offer challenges.

There will be three levels of difficulty, with the highest being for players who are “more used to games the company has previously developed.”

More news about Atlas Fallen:

The other end of the line, the lowest level, is a kind of “adventure mode” for beginners and for everyone who wants to get a feel for the different weapons.

Hartvick reckons the majority will play Normal mode. You must learn combos, level up to overcome hazards, and learn the basics of the game.

The hardest mode takes it all to the extreme, demanding fine-tuning of builds and the use of every available skill.

You’ll also be able to play co-op from start to finish, though it’s not yet clear how that will affect difficulty levels.

Atlas Fallen is scheduled for release in 2023 for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
