Everywhere: Developer responds to NFT allegations

Everywhere: What game is behind the strange announcement? (1)

Some brand new video games were presented at this year’s Gamescom. One of these is called Everywhere and comes from Build A Rocket Boy, the new studio from former Grand Theft Auto producer Leslie Benzies. As always with new studios and new projects, the studio is currently looking for new talent to work on the new project. Interestingly, Build A Rocket Boy currently has three open positions around blockchain development, including a senior backend programmer and a test engineer.

Everywhere is not a blockchain game

Video games and blockchain aren’t exactly on friendly terms, and a majority of gamers don’t think too much of things like blockchain titles, NFTs, and all pay-to-earn models. As a result of the job postings, there was a lot of concern that Everywhere might also be a blockchain game and include NFTs. We’ve already received a first trailer, but it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly what Everywhere actually is.

To allay the community’s concerns a little, Build A Rocket Boy announced a few days ago on Redditthat Everywhere is not a blockchain game:

“Hi everyone, we’re seeing some conversations about NFTs/cryptos that have been sparked by some of our open positions on our website. These are research positions because we don’t like to dismiss new technologies just because others haven’t found a solution for them yet. We build Everywhere on Unreal Engine 5, not on the blockchain. We’re creating a new world for players, where we come together to play, watch, create, share, and more! We hope this helps clear up some of the speculation on the matter.”
