Rockstar bans mentions of “GTA 6” on Twitch

GTA 6: Ironically, IMDB wants to know the release year

After banning mention of GTA 6 on their YouTube videos, Rockstar Games has now gone a step further and banned it on Twitch as well. However, there does not seem to be any official explanation for this procedure on the part of Rockstar Games. Read more about this below.

GTA is one of the biggest names in computer gaming history and GTA 6 is arguably one of the most anticipated games in development right now. However, the predecessor GTA 5 seems to continue to be popular and to provide Rockstar with decent returns, so that one can continue to work on the successor title without pressure almost ten years after the original publication. However, the community thirsts for new information about GTA 6 and gets into every little thing, so Rockstar Games had to react to it in the meantime.

GTA 6: The mystery of the alleged teaser could be solved according to the leaker

In the in-house Twitch channel, statements are now being made about the mention of GTA 6 checked before they can be posted. Whether they include GTA 6 or GTA VI seems irrelevant and auto-moderation doesn’t go live in either case. Rockstar Games has not yet commented on this or explained why they are trying desperately to prevent the mention of GTA 6, but it seems to be a method and not a mistake.

Previously, the developers had already removed GTA 6 from the comments section of Youtube and now they seem to be applying this policy to other outlets as well. The developers’ approach is understandable and that a detailed discussion before the actual publication is not desired should also be understandable. Nevertheless, the question is whether the procedure is correct, because after all the players seem to have serious anticipation for the title and want to exchange information about the game. The developers could also use this to their own advantage instead of stopping all communication about the game.
