Flashback 2: Release of the sci-fi sequel postponed

But a few days ago, Microids, the publisher behind the brand’s comeback, announced the title’s postponement. Originally, Flashback 2 should have been released in 2022 for the PC, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Now the sequel in 2023 appear. However, Microids has not announced a specific release date or a release period closer than the year. On the other hand, regular updates to the fans regarding the development of the title are planned.

The sequel to the classic

Flashback originally appeared 1992 and fascinated at the time with its futuristic setting and buttery smooth animations. In our first message about the sequel, we already talked extensively about the cult status of the original. After numerous failed attempts, a direct sequel to the genre mix to bring to the market, the sequel was announced in 2021. In terms of plot, Flashback 2 builds directly on the first part. Finally, the protagonist Conrad has to defend himself again against shape-shifting aliens. Whether the sequel will be able to build on the quality of the original is currently in the stars.
