The Logitech G502 Hero is one of the most popular gaming mice in the world and is still a regular bestseller among gaming accessories. So it is not surprising that Logitech is now introducing three new models of the G502 Hero:

What is special about the mice? Logitech relies on new switches that are built into the mice and sit under the buttons. Logitech calls these switches “Lightforce”: These are intended to combine the advantages of an optical switch with the click feeling of a mechanical switch. Optical switches are primarily intended to ensure a longer service life and are now also used by other manufacturers such as Razer or Roccat.
The in-house “HERO 25K Gaming” sensor is still used inside the mice.
What does the G502 X offer? The G502 X features a redesigned reversible and detachable DPI toggle button designed to adapt to different hand sizes and grip styles. There is also the well-known endless scroll wheel, which the G502 Hero is known for. The mouse can be charged via a USB-C cable.
What does the G502 X Lightspeed offer? The G502 X LIGHTSPEED relies on a revised LIGHTSPEED wireless protocol. In principle, it is similar to the previous G502 Hero Lightspeed, which also uses the wireless protocol.
What’s new is that you can connect two Logitech devices with a single dongle. With the Device Pairing Tool in the Logitech G Hub you can connect a mouse and a keyboard or headset to the computer. This frees up a USB port on the PC for other devices.
What does the G502 X Plus offer? The Plus model offers you an extensive lighting function. According to Logitech, 8-zone LED lighting is used, which you can switch on and off as you wish.
Otherwise, it is identical in construction to the G502 X. Like the predecessor G502 Hero, all three mice offer weight systems in the mouse’s belly
How much do the mice cost? The mice will be exclusively available from August 2022 LogitechG.com and later also available in retail stores. By the way, you can get all three of the mice in both black and white.

Why is the G502 Hero so successful? Logitech’s G502 Hero has the advantage of being a strong all-rounder: the mouse isn’t tied to a specific game or genre, but instead offers a lot of options with its many buttons if you want to adjust it to your playing style.
Other manufacturers also regularly try to build on the success of the G502. SteelSeries presented its Rival 5 as an opponent for the G502 Hero. And Razer regularly tries it with its Basilisk, more commonly referred to as the G502 Hero clone. The Basilisk V3 now also offers a scrolling mouse wheel.
