A new emote has appeared in patch 21.50 of Fortnite that appears to feature a song by Lady Gaga. Fans now expect a concert from her.

Cary, North Carolina – Since its rise to mega-hit, Fortnite has permeated virtually every layer of pop culture. From film to anime and manga to music, practically everything is now represented in one form or another in Battle Royale. Musicians and bands in particular have a special place in the game, and one or the other concert has already taken place in Fortnite. After patch 21.50, a new emote has now appeared in the game, which provides the first indications of a Lady Gaga concert.

What does the emote show? The new gesture in Fortnite is a synced emote, meaning one that requires two or more players for full effect. The whole thing is titled “Jug Band” and represents you and your fellow players as a bluegrass quartet. You can perform the emote with up to four players and when you get the full band together, your characters will perform a small song to the best.

This song should immediately jump into the ears of fans of pop music from the last ten years, it is clearly “Pokerface” by Lady Gaga, just not in the original version, but with violin and banjo. One of the first leakers to find the new emote in Fortnite’s files was the Twitter account Fortnite leaks & info, but other accounts have since shared a closer look. What are the fans speculating about now? Musical performances and references are far from new in Fortnite. After all, there was only recently the announcement of a collaboration between Eminem and Fortnite. There have also been in-game concerts in Fortnite, for example in August 2021 with Ariana Grande. Now fans suspect that a Lady Gaga concert is coming up next and not only the emote provides a clue.

The current Season 3 of Fortnite only runs until mid-September and then goes into Season 4. Epic Games usually ends each season in the game with a big event, and a concert would not be unthinkable at the end. Season 3 is also titled “Good Vibes” where there’s a big party going on across the Battle Royale island – sounds like the perfect setting for a final concert. However, Epic Games has already announced that a new edition of the Pride event “Rainbow Royale” will take place in September. Lady Gaga could also appear there as an icon of the LGBTQIA+ scene.

We may soon know more about a new concert in Fortnite. Many insiders are already expecting a new patch 21.51 to be released in September shortly before the end of Season 3. With the update, it would be expected that all other files for the end-of-season event would be added. So we will find out at the latest with version 21.51 whether Lady Gaga actually appears in the game.
