Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: Contains "sexual references" and some swear words

What does Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 bring us in terms of content? shootings! That’s pretty safe.

But what else? An Australian age classification, including justification for it, now provides a few indications of this.

Watch out, there’s shooting going on here

The Australian Classification Board warns against the depiction of “chasing and killing numerous opponents, with appropriate visibility of blood and detail of injuries”.

“The violence runs through most of the game, using firearms, including automatic weapons, as well as blades and other items.”

More Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 news:

So far, so normal, at least for Call of Duty and other shooters.

There is also talk of “brief visual and textual sexual innuendos and light depictions of sexualised images in a sequence set in a red-light district”. But don’t get excited too soon: “The game does not contain any depictions of sexual activity.”

Otherwise we have the usual swear words like “f**k, shit and asshole” and it’s also about drugs. There are “verbal references to drugs and cartels and short sequences showing packets of white powder. A short cutscene sees a character impliedly snorting white powder.”

This seems to confirm the rumors that Modern Warfare 2 is set in South America and deals with the fight against drug cartels.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28, 2022 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
