Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Gets Big Year 2 Update With Classic Maps, Insider Says
According to a well-known CoD insider, there will be numerous classic maps in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but only after launch.
The well-known leaker “TheGhostOfHop” refers to a “trustworthy source” and speaks of a massive post-launch update.
New impetus for the second year
Said post-launch update should therefore only come a while later and thus possibly herald the second year of the game.
According to previous reports and rumors, there is no new Call of Duty coming in 2023, so this would fill the gap and support Modern Warfare 2 for two years.
More Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 news:
According to TheGhostOfHope, there are plans to wrestle all or almost all of the maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 from 2009 into the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. That this could be Year 2 content is still speculation, but “very likely”.
At the moment it is nothing more than an unconfirmed rumor. If no new Call of Duty is actually released in 2023, it would definitely make sense to push Modern Warfare 2 again for a second year.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28, 2022 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Interesting piece of info I heard from a trustworthy source recently…
Infinity Ward are planning to release all/almost all Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps together all at once some time during the post launch of Modern Warfare II (2022). Very likely this could be Year 2 content. pic.twitter.com/7ZdVTftcug
