WoW: Dragonflight: Paladins get different battle rezz – depending on the spec
When the WoW developers announced in an interview a few days ago that another class in the game would be equipped with a so-called Battle Rezz, it wasn’t 100 percent clear which class or style of play would get the honor. With the start of the WoW beta: Dragonflight, however, we now know that Ion Hazzikostas remembered correctly in the interview and that it actually became the paladin.
Now both the tank and the healer and damage dealer can revive a fallen teammate in battle. The Battle Rezz works slightly differently, depending on the role we are in. What sounds strange at first glance makes perfect sense.
Magic Time or Holy Power?
During the interest called Battle Rezz is free for healers and damage dealers, but has a short cast time of 1.5 seconds, allowing tanks to cast it spontaneously. In return, it costs you three points of Holy Power. That makes sense both playfully and in terms of equality – at least in part.
- The revival of Holy Paladins is based on that of the Restoration Druid. It does not cost any resources and has a very short cast time. interest so it’s not really better or worse.
- The revival of Retribution Paladins works the same. A short cast time and no resource costs. This makes it similar to that of the balance druid or warlock.
- The revival of Protection Paladins costs three points of Holy Power, but has no casting time. It’s in line with ally’s Raising the Blood Death Knight or reviving Guardian Druids.
Only the DpS ways of playing the death knight fall out a bit. Because they have to spend resources on it, but don’t wait for the cast time, which means that you awaken allies more in line with the battle rezz of the tanks.

Bring the player, not the class
In terms of fairness, the whole thing looks very good and many players are amazed that the WoW developers have thought so far instead of just throwing a new battle rezz spell into the game. This also preserves the fact that tanks suffer the greatest loss when revived in combat and should generally be left to the healers or damage dealers.
Also, and most importantly, no rezz is better than another. So it won’t be the case that you’d rather have Class A for the Battle Rezz and only use Class B as a last resort. However, the WoW developers remain true to the “Bring the player, not the class” line.
How do you like the Paladins Battle Rezz? Does this further enhance the Holy Knights or was it completely unnecessary for the devs to give another class the ability to revive in battle? Which class would you have given the battle rezz to if you had the choice?
