MontanaBlack drew crowds at Gamescom. xQc, the largest Twitch streamer in the world, was amazed by the video with Marcel Eris.

Cologne – Gamescom was probably the highlight of the year for many YouTube and Twitch streamers. For fans, the trade fair in Cologne offers the best chance every year to experience their idols up close. MontanaBlack also took the opportunity to visit the event. But as soon as he arrived, a security contingent had to shield him from the crowds of fans. After the fair, the pictures from the event and MontanaBlack’s performance went around the world. They even left the world’s largest Twitch streamer xQc impressed.

Full name Marcel Thomas Andreas Eris
Known as MontanaBlack
birthday March 02, 1988
Place of birth Buxtehude
Subscribers on YouTube 2,900,000 (as of July 2022)
Followers on Twitch 4,600,000 (as of July 2022)

MontanaBlack: The streamer not only amazes his fans at Gamescom

Why is? MontanaBlack traveled to Gamescom on Saturday to visit the fair in person. However, as one of Germany’s biggest and most controversial streamers, he had to be accompanied by a lot of security personnel. Of course, the contingent meant that even more people became aware of him and soon whole crowds of people at Gamescom started moving behind MontanaBlack to follow him. The spectacle is not surprising, however, because the streamer now has around 4.6 million followers on Twitch.

The images of the crowd around the streamer quickly went around the web and also reached the live stream of a completely different Twitch heavyweight. In its stream, xQc reacted to the pictures from the fair. When he sees MontanaBlack and his following at Gamecom, he blurts out, visibly stunned: “Jesus, what a guy!‘ When he takes a closer look and recognizes MontanaBlack, he states: “It’s the OG Gamble Guy!”

xQc streams gambling on Twitch, as did MontanaBlack a while ago, which at one point topped the global Twitch charts as a result. Therefore, xQc seems to know the streamer from Buxtehude. Another video shows the streamer reading various critical comments about the streamer from Buxtehude in a Reddit thread. The criticism there, however, primarily relates to MontanaBlack’s NFT sweepstakes, which viewers felt cheated on and which led to another scandal earlier in the year.

Who is xQc? xQc’s real name is Félix Lengyel and he is a French-Canadian Twitch streamer who is currently one of the biggest names on the platform with over 11 million followers. The 27-year-old is a former e-sportsman who ended his active career in e-sports in 2018 after various controversies. However, he took off on Twitch and even overtook the streamer Ninja, which has 17 million followers but whose viewership has plummeted in the meantime. In terms of viewer hours, xQc is currently the largest streamer in the world.

MontanaBlack: The community stands behind their streamer

What is the community saying? The users from MontanaBlack’s fanbase are happy that their favorite streamer is also becoming better known internationally. However, not all users understand his appearance.

  • The Realist comments: “Monte and Knossi are probably very well known in the gambling bubble. What viewer numbers they used to have for casino content was just sick, even internationally.”
  • Jon from Ulm is surprised: “Crazy, this hype. There’s someone sitting in the basement of his house and actually just talking nonsense and people love it.”

What else was going on at Gamescom? In addition to the hype about MontanaBlack, Gamescom was of course primarily about new games. However, the current game announcements of the Opening Night Live were also overshadowed by other events that also had to do with the German YouTube and streaming community. The clash between Ban on Dance, Orangemorange and casino streamer Scurrow dominated social media over the weekend alongside Gamescom.
