Fable: Developers don’t want to show anything until it’s properly done

Fable (Rollenspiel) von Microsoft

Playground Games developers are refusing to preview the new fable on Xbox Series X. They want to wait until it’s properly finished.

And that’s despite the fact that even Matt Booty, the head of Xbox Game Studios himself, would love nothing more than to bring the title to the world. So he revealed in a speech at the PAX West 2022that Playground Games has so many cool things in store for the next-gen Fable game that he keeps asking the developers to share.

Xbox Game Studios’ new Fable: Head promises “a lot of cool stuff”

It is part of his job to have the team’s back as best as possible, as Booty himself explains. However, there would be no other game where this is as difficult for him as with the new Fable. He continues: “If there’s a game that reverses that, where every time I see something I’m like, ‘We should show that’, it’s Fable, because there are a lot of cooler ones out there Things”.

And while the team would have “made it very clear” that Booty “can’t show anything until it’s done,” as he explains with a laugh, he gives us a brief update on the development, letting it shine through that Playground uses the same “craft and… brings the same dedication to the new fable as “Forza Horizon”. He also admitted that entrusting Fable to a developer known for their racing games was “a bit difficult”. However, Playground Games had “proved that they get it”.

Of course, Booty did not reveal when exactly we can expect to see more from the legendary fantasy franchise. However, it’s about time, considering that Fable was announced for the Xbox Series X more than two years ago in July 2020. It was recently announced that the ForzaTech engine could potentially cause problems.
