Pokémon GO: 10 monsters that you shouldn’t miss for the psycho spectacle

Pokémon GO Mega Simsala Shiny

In Pokémon GO, the big psychological spectacle is running, where you can meet numerous Pokémon. We at MeinMMO took a look at what kind of monsters these are and tell you which ones you should definitely get.

What Pokemon is it about? Pokémon GO is currently hosting this year’s Psychic Extravaganza, bringing you a range of themed Pokémon in the wild, in eggs, and in raids. And one or the other copy can also be found in the rewards of the event quests and the limited research.

But not all monsters that you can meet during the event are worthwhile. We took a closer look at the spawns and listed 10 Pokémon below that you should secure for the psycho spectacle.

We start our ranking with the best Pokémon for the raids and the GO battle league, which you can find on the first page, and on page 2 we show you all the monsters where the shiny variants are particularly worthwhile.

When is the event running? The psycho extravaganza will run from September 6th, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. local time to September 12th, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

1. Mega Simsala

Mega Simsala normal (left) and Shiny (right)

What is this Pokemon? Mega Simsala is the temporary evolution of the Psychic Pokémon Simsala from the first generation of games. The monster celebrates its debut in the game for the psychological spectacle. To perform the evolution, you need 200 Mega Energy.

Why is Mega Simsala worth it? Just a look at Simsala’s values shows that the Pokémon can benefit from an enormous attack value. Its mega development is a lot stronger here and currently has the highest value behind Deoxys (attack form).

If you catch a corresponding Simsala after the mega-raid, then it will also learn the psychokinesis charging attack during the event. This is loaded relatively quickly and does a lot of damage to the enemy. For this reason, you should definitely secure the Pokémon for your raid battles.

Where can you find it at the event? Mega Simsala will be found in the Mega Raids during the Psycho spectacle. There you can secure the required Mega Energy and then develop a strong Simsala yourself. With a bit of luck, you’ll even encounter a Shiny Simsala after the raid.

Here are the best counters to Mega Simsala.

2. Abra

Abra normal (left) and as Shiny (right)

What is this Pokemon? With Abra, we stay in Simsala’s family, because the first generation Psychic-type Pokémon can be evolved via Kadabra into Simsala and finally into Mega Simsala.

Why is Abra worth it? If you’re looking for a strong Psychic Pokémon but don’t want to spend passes on the corresponding Mega Raids, you should keep an eye out for Abra. Although this monster is not particularly strong itself, it can score well in the raids thanks to its further development Simsala.

Simsala benefits from a high attack value and solid endurance and defense values. While it can’t quite beat its competitors like Mewtwo and Hoopa, its Confusion and Psychic moveset earns it a spot in the top 10 Psychic Attackers in the game.

In addition, if you develop Kadabra accordingly, your Simsala will automatically learn Psychokinesis as an event attack during the Psycho spectacle.

Where can you find it at the event? Abra spawns in the wild throughout the event. With a bit of luck, you may even encounter a dazzling specimen there. And you can also find Abra’s further development Kadabra in the wild from time to time. However, it cannot be caught in its shiny form.

3. Trasla

Trasla, Kirlia, Gardevoir and Galagladi normal (left) and as Shiny (right)

What is this Pokemon? Trasla is a Psychic and Fairy-type Pokémon from the 3rd generation of games. It can be evolved via Kirlia into Gardevoir and Galagladi.

Why is Trasla worth it? Trasla is one of the weaker monsters in the game itself. However, the same cannot be said of its two further developments, Gardevoir and Galagladi. These convince with a high attack value and solid values in defense and endurance.

Like Simsala, they use a Confusion and Psychic moveset in combat, earning them one of the top Psychic attackers in the game as well.

Gardevoir can also convince with a move set of charm and magic as a strong fairy attacker and is therefore one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.

Where can you find it at the event? You can find Trasla in the wild throughout the event, and if you’re lucky, even as a Shiny. And Kirlia, Trasla’s first evolution, will also show up here from time to time.

However, it is the same as with Abra and Kadabra, only Trasla can be caught as a dazzling specimen. To get Shiny-Kirlia, you can only evolve Shiny-Trasla.

4. Whereabouts

Where exactly normal (left) and as shiny (right)

What is this Pokemon? A slightly nondescript Pokémon in this list is Wobbuffet. The Psychic Pokémon from the 2nd generation of games only has the pre-evolution Isso. The monster has no further development.

Why is Wobgenau worthwhile? Even if Woingenau doesn’t really look special at first glance and can only score with high endurance, it could still be interesting for one or the other player.

Wobbuffet manages to rank 27th in Super League’s PvPoke rankings with a counter, return, and mirror cape moveset. So if you’re still looking for a strong Psychic-type Pokémon for the GO Battle League, Wobbuffet might be an option for you. In addition, you can also catch the monster in its dazzling form.

Where can you find it at the event? Wobbuffet will be found throughout the Psycho extravaganza in the level 3 raids.

5. Deoxys

Deoxys in his various forms normal (above) and as shiny (below)

What is this Pokemon? Deoxys is a legendary Psychic Pokémon from the 3rd generation of games. The monster has four different forms: normal form, attack form, defense form and initiative form. It has no advance or further development.

Why is Deoxys worth it? Basically, Deoxys is especially worthwhile for shiny hunters, because all of its forms can be caught in the dazzling version with a bit of luck. If you take a closer look at the individual variants of the Psychic Pokémon, you will notice that their values differ significantly.

With the attack form, for example, Deoxys has the highest attack value in the game. However, its endurance and especially defense values are really bad here, which is why the Pokémon doesn’t last very long in battle and therefore doesn’t make it among the best attackers.

His defensive form is a bit more balanced overall. This monster convinces with an enormous defense value and its stamina and attack are average. As such, it’s a solid contender in Superleague, securing 42nd place with a move set of Counter, Psy Boost, and Thunderbolt.

Where can you find it at the event? Deoxys can be found in his various forms in level 5 raids throughout the event. With a bit of luck, you can also catch it there as a Shiny.

Here are the best counters against the different forms of Deoxys:

But during the psycho spectacle, not only strong Pokémon will be interesting for raids or PvP battles, dazzling specimens in particular are very popular with many players. On the next page we will show you 5 monsters that you should definitely secure the shiny for the event.
