Unreal Engine 5: Impressive graphics demo shows coniferous forest in three settings

An asset provider’s graphics demo shows an impressive coniferous forest rendered in Unreal Engine 5. In addition to three videos showing the forest in different settings, a download link is also available.

If you are longing for a summery forest atmosphere this winter, you can use a virtual substitute. Three videos were recently published on Youtube showing an impressively realistic coniferous forest in Unreal Engine 5. The recordings were created by MAWI United – a German company that develops 3D assets for creating environments. The videos can therefore be understood as advertising for the company’s assets. At least the demo shown can also be downloaded free of charge via the video description.

Three videos, three (seasonal) times

If you want to “play” the graphics demo yourself, you have to bring at least reasonably powerful hardware with you. A Geforce GTX 1080 is mentioned as the minimum requirement, with which the demo should run in HD at 30 fps. On the other hand, a Geforce RTX 2070 is recommended, and if you want to run the demo, as in the video, in UHD and with 60 fps, you should even own at least a Geforce RTX 3080.

As usual for such graphic demos, don’t expect too much gameplay. Instead, the demo should be a pure graphics showcase that is intended to show the possibilities of Unreal Engine 5 and, of course, the level of detail of the assets contained. If you just look at the published videos, you won’t miss too much.

The videos are visually different. The theme is always a coniferous forest, but this is shown in three different settings. One clip shows him in summer and daylight, another in autumn at dusk and the last one in winter during a snowstorm. The recordings are impressive regardless of the selected setting – and that gives hope for future games. Because what is offered in the asset stores today can soon appear in the first games.
