Microsoft is experimenting with these new features for the Xbox homepage

Microsoft wants to provide the Xbox homepage with new features and improvements and is already testing them within the current week in the Xbox Insider Program. A publication of the innovations is not planned until 2023.

The Xbox homepage gets a new coat of paint

Senior Product Manager Lead Ivy Krislov explains this in a new post Xbox Wire: “We know that the Xbox home page is where our gamers spend the majority of their time, and it’s an area that’s very personal.”

“We also know we can always listen and learn how we can do better here while keeping the experience fast and familiar,” continued the Senior Product Manager.

A “month-long series of experiments to learn how to create a more personalized home screen experience and meet some of the key trends and fan requests” is now planned. This week starts the experiment where random Insiders get access to the new UI features.

This includes different homepage layouts, themes and changes in accessibility. For example, there should be the option of calling up the recently accessed apps and games via a new button.

Intelligent suggestions on the home screen

In addition, important system apps like Settings, Store, Search and My Games & Apps will get their own Xbox Home tiles and there will be a more consistent design overall “to make the experience more familiar”.

Microsoft’s plan also includes curated categories and recommendations based on user gaming behavior – a bit like Netflix.
