Rings of Power: This happens in Episode 3
From bad to worse seems to be the motto for the elves in Rings of Power. Both Arondir and Galadriel, while alive, find themselves in less than ideal situations. At first Galadriel seems to have got the better of it. She and Halbrand were rescued by a ship, albeit one belonging to the Kingdom of Númenor and captained by a certain Elendil. Once the humans living there were allied with the elves, but that was a while ago and the former friends have become estranged. Prime example: Galadriel and the Númenorean regent Miriel, who immediately bicker over trifles, much to Halbrand’s chagrin.

And Elendil quickly regrets having brought the two to Númenor. Miriel makes him caretaker of Galadriel, who would love nothing more than to steal a boat and travel on to Middle-earth. However, Elendil manages to convince them that it would make more sense to stay in Numénor for a while and look at some of the old Elven inscriptions that still exist on the island. There she discovers that the mark burned on her brother’s corpse is more than just a mark, but a map Sauron used to mark his future empire. In Númenor itself, Halbrand takes on Guildsmen and reveals that he harbors some dark secrets. Among other things, that he comes from a royal line that once swore an oath to Morgoth.
Orcs and mysterious strangers
Nori’s new boyfriend also has an ambivalent effect on her life with the Harfuss. First, the mysterious stranger she rescued from a meteor crater disrupts the Harfeet’s departure preparations. But Nori and her family are “only” banished to the end of the train, which at least gives them a chance to travel with the rest of the clan. However, due to their father’s foot injury, they can’t do it. When Nori’s family threatens to fall behind, the stranger shows up and helps them pull their wagon.

Meanwhile, Arondir falls into the hands of orcs. They use him and other elves as slave laborers to dig tunnels so they can roam freely. In a desperate move, the elves use the orcs’ dislike of the sun to break free – but the uprising fails and Arondir is taken to the orcs’ leader – Adar.
In “Adar” there is again a lot of background information about the Second Age that Amazon created for Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power. Along the way, well-known characters are reintroduced, such as Elendil and his son Isildur, who will still play an important role. And finally the plot that is the focus of the season is emerging. Sauron claims the Southlands and so far there are few who wish to oppose him.
