Xbox mysteriously starts Stalker 2 refunds

Stalker 2 Heart of Chernobyl

Microsoft has reportedly started refunding players who pre-purchased Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl because the game’s release date is now uncertain.

According to publish XGPXbox has been refunding pre-order customers and explaining that the decision to do so is because the game’s release was postponed to a “unconfirmed date in the future”.

The company also appears to have removed the ability to place new Stalker 2 pre-orders through the Microsoft Store. If these claims are accurate, the news isn’t entirely surprising given the circumstances surrounding the development of Stalker 2.

The game is being developed by the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World. The company, which was based in kyiv before the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February, has since partially relocated to the Czech Republic.
