Assassin’s Creed Infinity: Red & Hexe – New games bring shinobi action and witch setting

Activision Blizzard: Phil Spencer pleased with acquisition progress

With Codename Red and Codename Hexe, Ubisoft will release two new flagship titles for Infinity in 2023. One setting fulfills the deepest fan wishes, the other causes speculation.

In the course of the rumors about Assassin’s Creed Mirage it was already said that the latest series offspring could be a smaller fountain pen production, while Ubisoft is working in the background on a completely new, larger title.

The rumors have been partially confirmed, because not just one, but two games are in development. On the one hand, Ubisoft Quebec (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey) fulfills the dearest wish of the fans and transports you to Japan with Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red.

Here you should be able to fully live out your shinobi fantasies and roam through the land of the rising sun as a silent killer. Ubisoft calls Codename Red a “premium flagship title,” so it’s safe to assume that we can expect a huge Assassin’s Creed title in terms of size, scope and innovations.

Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe is a completely different approach. As the name suggests, Ubisoft Montreal will most likely take you back to the time of the witch hunts.

That sounds like gloomy settings, like musty forests, burning pyres and the fight between religion and nature. Ubisoft has not yet revealed any more detailed information, only that Codename Hexe should be a completely different gaming experience.

And the magic word “infinity” has been hovering over all of this for quite some time, which is supposed to unite the entire Assassin’s Creed experience. This is now becoming a reality with Red and Hexe. Assassin’s Creed Infinity is intended to link the two games together and serve as a common hub.

A multiplayer mode is also coming back and will most likely be part of Infinity. However, what exactly the concept of the hub is or what it looks like, Ubisoft is still silent about.

We’re definitely excited to see how the future of Assassin’s Creed continues to unfold. After today’s show, one thing is certain: even after 15 years, the franchise is not old-fashioned, it continues to produce tons of stories with four upcoming games, a Netflix series and a hub world.

What do you think of the new Assassin’s Creeds? Which of the two titles are you looking forward to the most?
