N64 König: AceGamerSam plays through all titles of the Nintendo console

This is AceGamerSam: Canadian retro fan Samuel “AceGamerSam” Girard collects all kinds of retro games. He started doing this 12 years ago. So he has collected a gigantic retro game collection. This includes all 296 games released in North America for the Nintendo 64. The collector also owns all games released for the SEGA Dreamcast. The special: he has played every single N64 game, but that’s not all.

Here’s why he’s the Nintendo 64 king: 6 years ago, AceGamerSam set itself the challenge of playing through all 297 Nintendo 64 games. At the beginning of his journey he started streaming on Twitch. So the spectators could accompany him on his way. His fans could suggest which game he should play next. After 6 years he finished his journey. AceGamerSam is the first player to complete all 296 N64 games and is therefore dubbed the N64 King.

He started the challenge with classics like Zelda Ocarina of Time. AceGamerSam has also encountered a few games that he thinks very little of, like Micro Machines and Hot Wheels: Turbo Racing though. So that he doesn’t lose motivation, he saved one of the most legendary N64 games until the end. With the grand finale, Super Mario 64, he ended the long journey.

Nintendo 64 King: AceGamerSam isn’t done yet – Sonic is next

AceGamerSam wants to be Sonic King: However, the Canadian game collector is far from finished. As the next challenge, AceGamerSam has set out to play through all “Sonic the” Hedgehog games. By his own admission, that’s over 200, so if he completes his new challenge, he could still be considered the Sonic King. It will be interesting to see whether it will take a full 6 years to finish this time.

So it can be said that AceGamerSam is a true retro enthusiast. However, he is far from the only one, because a PS5 owner traded in his console for an old N64. Maybe he’ll use it to start a crazy six-year journey.
