New World on course for success? New servers opened due to player demand

The New World Summer Update will be released on July 28, 2022.

At launch, Amazon’s MMORPG New World attracted almost a million players. Unfortunately, it quickly became clear that the title had some serious shortcomings, which alienated most of the players. The rather long queues for the game’s release enticed Amazon to release brand new servers, which ended up looking like real ghost towns after a few months. These servers were then merged back into other servers, and some of the game’s issues have now been sorted out by Amazon. Additionally, recent updates to the MMO have been well received by players, and the recently announced expansion is also a source of anticipation.

New Fresh Start servers for New World

It all looks like New World will turn the corner and turn out to be a pretty good MMORPG. Fans of the genre have probably noticed that too, because more and more players seem to be returning to the world of New World. In fact, there are so many players that Amazon is now again had to open new serversto withstand the crowd.

The Central Europe, South America, and US East regions all received a brand new server. They don’t have any territorial claims or anything like that, so players can relive the title like it did when it was released. Servers for a fresh start have been requested by the community for a long time, and players are even allowed to transfer their existing characters to the new servers.

Unfortunately, if you already have two characters in the region, you cannot create a new character for the servers. The servers are also limited to 2,200 players, which is why there could of course be queues again if there are too many players. Should the new servers eventually have too few players, Amazon has already stated that nothing stands in the way of a merger.
