At the State of Play held this morning, Ironwood Studios presented their debut work Pacific Drive announced. The game is described by the developers as Road-Like, a first-person survival driving game. You can see an impression of this gameplay mix in the reveal trailer that we have included at the end of this news.

Synopsis: In 1955, the US government seized territory in the Pacific Northwest. In this area, called the Olympic Peninsula, promising new technologies were then tested, but at a high price: flora and fauna collapsed and mutated due to radiation. The government cordoned off the area and set up the “Olympic Exclusion Zone”. What happened in this one was never disclosed.

Your character’s task will be to explore this Olympic Exclusion Zone. You have no other choice, because to get home you have to cross it. At the beginning of the game you will find an old station wagon and shortly thereafter an abandoned garage, which you expand into your base. From here you will then start your exploration trips and improve your equipment with the materials you find on your excursions.

According to their own statements, the almost 20-strong team from the US state of Seattle has been working on Pacific Drive since its inception in 2019. The title is expected to be released for PC and Playstation 5 in 2023.
