The steel event is currently running in Pokémon GO and brings you numerous spawns. We at MeinMMO have looked at which of these are particularly worthwhile and show you where you can get them.

Which event is it about? As of today, September 16th, the steel event called “Test Your Nerves” has been running in Pokémon GO. This event is all about Steel-type Pokémon, which is why they’re everywhere in the wild and in raids. And the contents of the 7 km eggs have also been changed at the start of the event.

You will have the chance to encounter one or the other strong specimen in the coming days. We have summarized below which 8 specimens you should look out for in particular.

How long is the Steel Event? The Steel Event started today, September 16, 2022 at 10:00 local time and will run until September 21, 2022 at 20:00 local time.

1. Mega Aggron

Why is this monster worth it? Mega Aggron is the temporary evolution of the Steel and Rock-type Aggron. This can score as one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO even without its Mega Evolution. However, its Mega Evolution is a bit stronger. Stolloss is therefore doubly worthwhile.

Where to find it With the start of the steel event, there will be mega agitators in the raids for the first time. In this way you get the corresponding mega energy and can thus temporarily develop your own Aggron. You can also catch Aggron after the raid, with a bit of luck even as Shiny.

If you already have enough Mega Energy and are just looking for a strong specimen, you should look out for Stollunior in the wild. This can be developed into Stolloss via Stollrak. This saves you valuable raid passes and also gives you the chance of a shiny.

2. Katagami

Why is this monster worth it? Another new addition to the game is Katagami. The Ultra Beast from the 7th generation of games belongs to the types Grass and Steel. The monster has an enormous attack value and deals a lot of damage to the opponent with a Razor Leaf and Leaf Blade moveset. Thus, Katagami ranks among the best plant attackers in the game.

Where to find it Katagami can be found in Northern Hemisphere level 5 raids until September 27th. However, it is not yet available in the game as Shiny.

With these counters you can defeat Katagami as quickly as possible.

3. Scyther

4. Schilterus

8. Riolu

Why is this monster worth it? A monster that is in high demand among many players is Riolu. The Fighting Pokémon usually hatch from 10 km Eggs and are therefore rare in the game. It has a pretty strong advancement: Lucario.

Lucario benefits from a high Attack stat and tops the list of best fighting attackers in Pokémon GO with a Counter and Aura Sphere moveset. And it can also be a solid alternative in the super and hyper leagues.

Where to find it Riolu will hatch from the 7km Eggs that you can get from your friends’ gifts during the Steel event. With a bit of luck you will meet Shiny-Riolu.

Which Pokémon are also worthwhile?

In addition to the aforementioned Pokémon, which everyone should have in their Pokémon storage, other interesting monsters will also spawn during the steel event:

  • Togedemaru: The Pokémon made its debut in the game with the start of the event, but it is not particularly strong and is therefore only an option for the Super League.
  • fibber can only be found occasionally in the game and is therefore rather rare. If you are looking for a shiny, you should try your luck in the level 3 raids.
  • Kaguron: The Ultra Beast can be found parallel to Katagami for the first time in the level 5 raids in the southern hemisphere and can therefore only be earned via long-distance raids. The monster is not particularly strong. So it’s mostly interesting for the Pokédex.
