There’s been one final change ahead of Worlds 2022 in League of Legends , and it’s good news for Akali. The Fist of Shadows has been buffed in a LoL Patch 12.18 hotfix that will be active for the Championship.

Worlds 2022 is coming up, and players now know what the game will look like for the big event with League of Legends patch 12.18 now on live servers.

While the World Championship will be played with Udyr’s redesign disabled, everything else is fair. This includes a number of recent changes, such as a huge overhaul of Maokai and minor meta changes in almost every lane.

However, in the final hour, Riot has pushed one last hotfix buff for one champion: Akali. Shadow Fist has been in a decent spot in the meta, but Riot is giving it a slight tweak ahead of Worlds 2022.

It’s just a small change for Akali: will now apply True Vision to enemies hit with his Shuriken Flip. This will apply for three seconds, where Akali can back up and start fighting opponents.

This is a small but significant change to how Akali fights Teemo, Evelynn, Shaco, and Akshan. He can perform combos more reliably when he can see his target’s exact position through stealth.

It’s not a massive number change, and it’s just matchup-specific, but it could make a difference in certain situations.

Does the buff mean we’ll see Akali picked at Worlds 2022? It remains to be seen. Globally, Akali had a 19.8% presence in professional play in the summer. — not the worst, but definitely far from a basic meta. This slight change, however, could be a deal breaker if the matchup calls for it.
