fall update
The Windows 10 Fall Update to 22H2 will be available for download in October. Microsoft confirmed this in the course of the Windows 11 update.

On the same day that Microsoft made feature update 22H2 available for download for the current Windows 11 operating system, the company also announced innovations for Windows 10. In October, the predecessor should also receive an update to version 22H2, like the company in one Supplement to the Windows 11 update mentioned.
In contrast to the major Windows 10 update to 21H2, which took place last year, this seems to be more of a maintenance update and does not come up with many new features. This is suggested by the almost casual announcement of the update.
After all, the upcoming update shows that Microsoft will not completely ignore Windows 10 until the end of support on October 14, 2025. After all, the company itself talks about Windows 10 as a “great place” for devices that can’t upgrade to Windows 11 because of the controversial TPM 2.0 requirement, for example.
At the end of July, users of the release preview of the 22H2 update were able to take a first look at the new software version. However, this also contained only a few security and functional improvements, as Microsoft in the Blog entry for Windows 10 Release Preview 22H2 writes. Among other things, some adjustments were made to Windows Focus Assist and Windows Autopilot.
In addition, the taskbar could undergo a change, such as Neowin reported. In this, relevant news should be displayed regardless of the orientation of the bar – in contrast to the menu in Windows 11, which is fixed at the bottom of the screen.
