Super Mario: The first trailer for the film will be released in October

Next month at the New York Comic Convention it should be ready. Then the first trailer for the Super Mario movie will appear.

Chris Pratt’s Mario is making its debut next month

So in October we can get our first look at the upcoming Super Mario movie. The official New York Comic Con account confirms this and writes on Twitter: “On October 6th at 4:00 p.m. ET, join us for the premiere of the teaser trailer for the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie from Nintendo and Illumination, which premieres on October 7th . will be in cinemas in April 2023.”

Mark October 6th in your calendars if you don’t want to miss the new trailer. Here in Germany the video appears at 10:00 p.m. Not much is known about this first glimpse – not even in which panel the trailer for the film will be shown.

Otherwise, news about the film was dealt with rather sparingly. Except for the announcements about the cast, we’re still pretty much in the dark. Chris Pratt, who you know from Guardians of the Galaxy, takes on Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy plays Princess Peach, Charlie Day joins in as Luigi, Jack Black has been cast as Bowser, and Seth Rogen does Donkey Kong. Toad is played by Keegan-Michael Key.

Chris Pratt’s voice as Mario has been hotly debated. However, the actor won’t imitate the plumber’s signature Italian accent, said Chris Meledandri, co-founder and CEO of Illumination, in the same breath praised Pratt’s Mario voice as “phenomenal”.
