Wired Productions: Forms music label Black Razor Records

Activision Blizzard: Phil Spencer pleased with acquisition progress

Wired Productions founds music label Black Razor Records. All proceeds from the Arcade Paradise EP will go to the gaming charity Safe In Our World.

Video game publisher Wired Productions today launched new music label Black Razor Records with the goal of bridging the gap between music and video games. The debut EP Arcade Paradise contains 4 songs from the video game of the same name.

The Arcade Paradise EP is a collaboration between composer Kieron Pepper (former Prodigy Live drummer 1997-2007), Ben Pickersgill (producer from Brighton, UK [Klax, Critical]) and singer Stu Brootal (Ivar & The Horde). All proceeds from the sale of the EP through Bandcamp will go to the Safe In Our World charity, which works to promote mental health in the video games industry.

The music on this EP is part of the video game of the same name, Arcade Paradise, developed by award-winning indie studio Nosebleed Interactive. The game was released on August 11th. The theme song Arcade Paradise follows the story of Ashley and her broken relationship with her father. Combining anger and determination, Ashley shows how much can be achieved with the right focus.

Founded in 2019, Safe In Our World has been dedicated to raising awareness of mental health in video games. Both for gamers worldwide and employees in the industry. The charity offers help to all walks of life. Also people like Ashley, the protagonist of Arcade Paradise, who feel extreme social pressures and struggle with their commitments and personal relationships every day. Ashley’s story is just one of many, but many can relate to it.

In the video below, Leo Zullo, Stu Brootal and Kieron Pepper talk about the collaboration between Arcade Paradise and Safe In Our World:

“We’ve all experienced something like Ashley’s struggle against authority at some point in our lives. When we were briefed on the issue, it was very easy to understand and empathize with her,” said Kieron Pepper, producer and composer of the Arcade Paradise EP. “Stu Brootal and his crew, Ivar & The Horde, nailed it with just the right amount of rage and energy.”

“I hope gamers and music fans alike appreciate the song’s message, as well as the proceeds going to Safe In Our World, which is a really good thing,” said Leo Zullo, general manager of Wired Productions. “Music has always been part of Wired Productions’ DNA, so it makes sense for us to start our own label. We are an independent company, so we choose the projects we work on ourselves. We’re glad we can combine what’s important to us with our first release. Video games, great music, and support for a good cause close to our hearts.”

The Arcade Paradise EP is available now for £3.00. All receipts above bandcamp go to Safe In Our World. The Arcade Paradise EP is also on all of them streaming platforms available.
