WoW WotLK Classic: Raids count towards the instance limit – and Sartharion +3 buffed
In the WoW Wrath of the Lich King Classic beta forums, the developers of the classic online role-playing experience have posted a few more hints for the upcoming release of WotLK Classic (September 27th, 2022 for us). Accordingly, the server-first achievements will now only be blocked for you for 24 hours if you have just arrived on a new realm from another server for free.
Interesting for those of you who want to resize Sartharion +3 – i.e. Sartharion from the Obsidian Sanctum plus three of his dragons, the Quasi-Hardmore – in the usual WotLK manner, is the news that Sartharion’s life points are noticeably increased for each dragon that is still alive. Originally Sartharion had 25 percent more health with the +3 buff, in WotLK Classic it will be 65 percent more health.
Instance limit also for raids
And then raids were added to the hourly limit of five dungeons per hour. The developers commented: “The hourly instance limit will prevent players from entering instances they have entered at least once in the last hour. With this change, farming a dungeon should not prevent you from entering a raid instance unless you try to reset and re-enter the raid instance multiple times.”
Below is the information we translated from the developers of WoW WotLK Classic from the beta forum.
- Realm First achievements are now unavailable for 24 hours after a player character transfers to another realm for free (up from 60 days).
Developer Notes: This is to address concerns some players may have when using Free Transfer to switch to a realm that is not overcrowded.
- Will of Sartharion now increases Sartharion’s health by 25% with one living dragon, 45% with two living dragons, and 65% with three living dragons (from 25%).
Developer Notes: Sarth+3 should still be manageable, but the unintended strategy of simply burning the boss down should be a lot less viable. Please note that the in-game tooltip is currently incorrect and will be updated in the future.
- Raids now count towards the 5 instances per hour limit.
Developer Notes: The hourly instance limit prevents players from entering instances that they have entered at least once in the last hour. With this change, farming a dungeon should not prevent you from entering a raid instance as long as you don’t attempt to reset and re-enter the raid instance multiple times.
- Adjusted the cost and availability of Season 5 Arena gear to match their final values.
Developer Notes: Previously, there were some inconsistencies in PvP gear from season to season, particularly rating requirements. With this update, the Savage and Hateful arena gear items will be adjusted to require both Honor Points and Arena Points (if applicable). Previously, in the Wrath Beta, they were only sold for arena points. As a reminder, the vendors that sell Arena gear in Dalaran, Area 52, Gadgetzan, and the PvP roosts in the capital cities will not sell you any Season 5 gear until the start of Season 5. Savage Arena gear will only be available for Honor in the capital cities, but will be sold for Arena Points and Honor in Gadgetzan, Area 52, and Dalaran. This is intentional and matches the original Wrath of the Lich King.
