Logitech G Pro X Wireless Review

Logitech G Pro X Wireless Review GamersRD

Some brands leave us marked in a great way, Logitech G is one of them and this time we have in our hands the famous gaming headset Logitech G Pro X Wireless for professional players.

Every day we have that desire to use peripherals that are baptized by professional gamers. It is interesting to see how the market works in such an indirect way in this environment and companies take advantage of it. Logitech G has had its Pro X line of products for a long time and personally I was always struck by the version of this headset in its wireless version that I reviewed a long time ago (you can read it by following this link).

Now, several years ago its wireless version with many of the same features came into my hands along with a vast experience using other styles of gaming headsets on the market, it made me think, I really have gone back to my beginnings. This review will practically be similar to the previous one in terms of functions, but my experience right now is totally different.

Before continuing, let’s read a little about the general characteristics of this headset:

LIGHTSPEED Wireless Technology

LIGHTSPEED wireless is Logitech’s high-performance wireless technology, designed from the ground up to deliver rock-solid, stable, latency-free performance. Thanks to the implementation of its data pipe, the 2.5 GHz connection is advertised to reach speeds faster than those of a wired device. In the case of audio applications, this translates into a lossless experience with no latency.

HEADPHONES DTS: X 7.1 Surround Sound

DTS HEADPHONE:X is an object-oriented sound experience that delivers near-field and far-field audio clarity. It’s a real game changer, with “improved bass rendering, audio clarity, and proximity cues.”

micBlue VO!CE phonophone

BLUE VO!CE offers industry-defining microphone technology, accessible and definable via G-Hub. In addition to input/output leveling and vocal EQ, noise reduction, high-pass filter, de-esser, gate, compressor, and limiter are available, each operated via simple checkboxes check boxes and sliders. Professional esports preset profiles are also available.

Logitech Hybrid Mesh PRO-G 50MM Drivers

Logitech has achieved great things with the 50mm PRO-G drivers. Constructed from a hybrid mesh and offering a wide frequency range (20Hz-20kHz), the drivers are responsible for generating consistently clear high-fidelity audio, with or without DTS and G-Hub support.

Interchangeable memory foam ear cushions.

The ear cushions are padded with high-quality memory foam, providing a comfortable fit unique to each wearer, an especially welcome feature for eyeglass wearers. The Pro X comes with two cushion options, allowing you to choose between a leatherette or cloth finish. In our experience, although faux fur looks better, the cloth finish was preferred for its strength.

This headset is a literal step forward in terms of design to the previous standard Pro X. It is designed in collaboration with professional eSports teams. This headset combines an excellent audio system with a peculiarity that I quite like and that is the microphone with BLUE VO!CE technology. In addition to all this, it has Lightspeed connectivity to avoid latency.

For audio quality issues we have that it is compatible with DTS Audio, giving us the possibility of having a complete 7.1 surround sound audio reception wirelessly. Something that has always caught my attention since I tried them at the beginning. Something that has always called the aesthetics of this game is the construction material, it can be very robust but its headband is made of metal with a leather quilt that does not bother at all. I even feel that this type of design helps to conditionally cancel out ambient noise.

Something important here is that this wireless version weighs 370g when the standard version only weighs 320g, all this happens for a simple reason. Remember that we now carry an additional battery, power controls in addition to the wireless technology included in it. Speaking of battery issues, we have a duration of around 20 hours, something that is very little for someone like me who is always listening to music or playing games. This short duration is compensated due to the fast charge that it has via USB-C.

If we talk a bit about Lightspeed technology in peripherals, I can witness it as I use my Logitech G Pro X Superlight a lot and the response time is amazing. This technology is a Logitech technology effort that guarantees data response and makes it process efficiently, in other words we can receive the sound of an enemy in a real way (not before obviously) without any delay. The 2.4GHz wireless connection makes our accuracy good no matter what peripheral we’re using from the same brand. In addition to this the response distance from the dongle to the headset is incredible, I have been several meters away from the PC and still have literally full reception.

As you can see we have all the buttons on the same side, making it easier to operate and understand. On this right side we have the power buttons, mute the microphone or to raise and lower the volume. This material including the volume wheel is quite resistant and can really be considered as that of a good quality headset. Knowing that the wheel won’t stop working is a total relief or worse yet, that it’s pretty accurate in adjusting the volume to the desired level without stressing you out.

Like all Logitech G devices, these operate under software called G-Hub, which immediately updates the firmware of my headset as well as being able to configure a wide range of options as well as adjust the quality of the audio we are working with. In this same software we can see default profiles for each game created by highly famous content creators. The equalizations even down to the microphone and the parameters of the DTS 7.1 surround sound that it has makes it even better.

Something that I could notice is that the quality of the microphone Blue VO!CE It is not the same as the previous one, the microphone has not undergone any change and the intensity of the voice is somewhat lower than what is already known. Perhaps the wireless technology at all is not the result of these situations but I can say that the standard Pro X (wired) has a better microphone quality compared to the Pro X Wireless (current of this review) which makes me think if we had any downgrade in the manufacturing process or simply the headset will not allow this high quality of voice through wireless waves.

It seems to me understandable for a simple reason. Having something wireless gives us a certain comfort such as not having cables, moving freely to do a specific task but at the same time this entails a sacrifice such as remembering to charge the headset before playing or suffering an interruption in the audio if we go too far. Unfortunately, one of these penalties in this headset for me has been the quality of the audio, which is not bad, but simply not the usual one.

In conclusion,

The Logitech G Pro X Wireless are a necessary upgrade on a good competitive headset. Its functions, such as 7.1 surround sound and its characteristic microphone with Blue VO!CE technology, make it my everyday headset. As every device has its ups and downs, the quality of the microphone feels inferior making you feel that the product is better or worse in some ways. One thing doesn’t take away from the other, it’s still a competitive peripheral for people looking to find their enemies more easily when playing. This review was conducted with a gaming headset provided by Logitech G.
