Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2: Voice actors will not be replaced by AI

Activision Blizzard: Phil Spencer pleased with acquisition progress

Ninja Theory will not replace voice actors with artificial intelligence in Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.

A recent report of voice actors concerned about losing their jobs to AI-powered voice actors apparently gave the impression that developer Ninja Theory wanted to replace real voice actors.

The developer apparently uses a technology called Altered AI for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.

Ninja Theory has now commented on Twitter and made it clear in a reply that speakers will not be replaced. Rather, the technology is used as a placeholder. Real people are at the heart of a living story.

“No. To be clear, we only use this AI technology for placeholder content to understand things like timing and placement in early stages of development. We then work with real actors whose performances are at the heart of bringing our stories to life.”
