WoW: WotLK Classic – It starts tonight
World of Warcraft Classic expands tonight with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. This is the second expansion for World of Warcraft, originally released in 2008. WoW Classic players will soon be able to travel to the freezing continent of Northrend again.
The Lich King is coming to World of Warcraft Classic. The classic servers of the popular MMORPG started in 2019. These are also considered with the original expansions: The Burning Crusade was played on the Classic servers in 2021. Wrath of the Lich King follows tonight around 12:00 a.m. German time. In the expansion, players will face off against the former Prince of Lordaeron, who now calls himself the Lich King.
Classic players have to do without dungeon finders
Among other things, players can face Prince Arthas Menethil with the new Death Knight class. This could already be created with the pre-patch for the new extension. Unlike the original WotLK version, WoW Classic does not require a level 55 character to create a Death Knight. As usual, the new class starts at level 55.
However, players will have to do without a feature that the original WotLK expansion brought with it in the classic version. Later in the expansion, WoW fans received the dungeon finder. With the controversial tool, players can register for dungeons and find other players. If a group came together, you were teleported directly in front of the entrance of the respective dungeon. However, the developers decided that the dungeon finder would not be part of WoW Classic fits. Instead, they want to rely more on the group search tool.
The extension has even more innovations ready. For example, there’s the new profession of Inscriptionist, who can craft glyphs to alter abilities. In addition, the new neutral capital Dalaran lures. The barbers can also customize the appearance of their own character.
