Wrath of the Lich King Classic is now available in World of Warcraft

The icy winds of Northrend resound once more, heralding the news that Wrath of the Lich King Classic by Blizzard Entertainment It is now available. All players with an active subscription will automatically receive access to the recreation of the award-winning second expansion of wow, at no additional cost, and you can log in to start your adventures in the frozen wastes of the northern continent of Azeroth today. This legendary story is playable on all realms previously dedicated to the content of World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic.

Players will embark on a perilous odyssey that will take them through lush settings. They will fight enemies unlike any Azeroth has ever seen, completing numerous quests before confronting the iconic Lich King in Icecrown Citadel, where they will put an end to their merciless destruction of him.

This journey includes the rise of the fearsome hero class death knightwhich is available to all players (even new ones!) and starts at level 55, the original achievement system for world of warcraftwhich rewards you for your in-game exploits) and the inscription profession, which allows you to write glyphs that enhance your abilities and alter the appearance and properties of your spells and abilities.

The core experience of this much-loved expansion, originally released in 2008, remains intact, though some gameplay and social features have been modernized for the Modern and Classic WoW communities. Today’s group tools have evolved without neglecting the experience of organically forming groups. Players will also notice other quality of life upgrades we’ve created to preserve the soul of classical and ensuring that players’ journeys through Northrend are both rewarding and challenging.

Wrath of the Lich King Classic contains an iconic adventure from a momentous moment in Azeroth’s history. We love this expansion, and have carefully struck a balance between nostalgia for veteran players and modernization needed by players discovering it for the first time,” commented the Vice President and Executive Producer of world of warcraft, Holly Longdale. “By paying more attention to how players build groups for raids and in their max-level adventures, we’ve worked hard to ensure that all players can experience all that the vast continent of Northrend has to offer.”

Community is the heart of classical, and there’s plenty of group content for players to explore with friends: As of today, there are twelve dungeons that make up the level-up and max-level experience, and there will be a total of sixteen throughout the expansion. On October 6, those thirsty for formidable challenges can try their hand at the first three raids (out of seven)—Eye of Eternity, Obsidian Sanctum, and Naxxramas—before continuing their adventures in Ulduar, Trial of the Crusader, Icecrown Citadel and Ruby Sanctum in future updates.

Those who want to further enhance their experience can choose from two upgrades for sale at battle.net:

  • Northrend Heroic Upgrade: A character boost to level 70 complete with suitable gear, a mount, gold to start with, the Expert Rider ability, the Rocky Penguin pet, and the Fishspeaker’s Luck Bait, a toy for summoning your own tusker fishing buddy.
